Photography that documents industry and work, the basis of each edition of Foto/Industria, this year explores the production of objects and devices that fall within a vast and solid sector that has been able to reinvent itself over time to meet changes in taste and habits, and is always extremely receptive to technological innovation.
Memory is the leitmotif in this exhibition, in which the artist recalls the time when he was still a child, singing with his mother at religious festivals near Beirut, Lebanon. Karaoke acts here as both a narrative and an elaboration of past events. Play, memory, tradition, family relationships and loss are interwoven in his works and into the itinerary of the entire exhibition, which starts with Yassin’s individual experience and expands to include an in-depth analysis of the mediums used to track it.
