BICE LAZZARI
Palazzo Citterio, Milan, 2025
This retrospective exhibition revisits the work of Bice Lazzari, an artist better known internationally than in her own country, despite her central role in the development of abstract art. Following recent exhibitions in the United States and England, the presentation in Milan - later traveling to Rome - marks a key moment in the renewed recognition of her practice.
The exhibition focuses on the evolution of her personal visual language, defined by rhythm, repetition, and a clear structural logic. The works reveal a coherent system in which image and composition are inseparable, reflecting an ethical rejection of fixed and conventional forms. Throughout the exhibition, the close relationship between painting and music emerges as a guiding principle of both her work and its interpretation.
